You think the big three were unreliable in the malaise era?
Just try your luck with an AMC. Haha.

Can’t help it, AMCs are in my blood.

How they managed to make good looking and desirable cars from leftovers blows my mind.
Jeep is in my blood and despite feeling repeatedly wronged by them, I still want them for psychological reasons that are probably unhealthy. I know the draw of AMC all too well.
Sometimes however, I just look at how AMCs are engineered and ask myself “Why would you do this?”
Regardless, they produced some genuinely good cars in their early days when they still had obvious influence from Hudson and Nash. I feel like they lost it at some point though.

Like Bob Lutz said, they were like the Wake Island Marines. They managed to help Chrysler out immensely after the buyout. There would have been no LH car without the Eagle Premier.

They helped Chrysler out a bunch.
In particular, Jeep has always been a reliable seller with minimal yearly changes.
